Awards to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Programs
- Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center has a "Level 1 Bariatric Surgery Center" designation by the American College of Surgeons based on the amount of surgeries performed, the outcomes of these surgeries, and the overall evaluation of its program and staff. Read more.
- Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center has been designated as a Level 4 epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NEAC). The Level 4 designation is applied to hospitals and medical centers that provide the more complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostics monitoring, as well extensive medical, neuropsychological, and psychosocial treatment, according to the NEAC. - Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center announced today that it has received the Outstanding Collaboration Award for 2009 from the American Cancer Society (ACS) in New Hampshire. The Award recognizes an organization that has partnered with the ACS to advance its 2015 collaborative goals. These goals seek to significantly reduce cancer diagnoses and deaths, and to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors and their loved ones. Read more.
- Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's Live Well/Work Well program was honored with the New Hampshire Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award for Physical Activity and Health in the Worksite Wellness category on Wednesday, May 26, during a ceremony at the State House. - In May 2010, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center was awarded the highest environmental achievement award presented by Practice Greenhealth, a national membership organization for health care facilities committed to environmentally responsible operations. The facility was named a member of the Environmental Leadership Circle, Practice Greenhealth's most prestigious award. Read more.
- The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) has received recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for their Pediatric Diabetes Education Program at their locations in Manchester and Lebanon. CHaD's Manchester based program originally received this distinction in 2007. CHaD's Pediatric Diabetes Education Program offers diabetes self-management education to families of children with diabetes. Read more.
- Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) has once again been named to an elite group of U.S. hospitals that are producing the best clinical outcomes for cardiovascular care, and which treat heart patients in less time and at a lower cost, according to a study just released by the health care arm of Thomson Reuters, an international business intelligence and media company. - The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has issued its first Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Report, showing that all 26 acute-care hospitals in the state are at or below national averages for expected overall numbers of healthcare-associated infections, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center significantly below the national average. - The New England Organ Bank (NEOB) - including Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center - has been recognized for its part in the "Flags Across America" campaign promoting organ and tissue donation. At the Donate Life America annual meeting in Baltimore, MD, on June 23, 2010, NEOB won two of six national awards for efforts in New Hampshire and Maine. Read more.
