William W. Helman
William Helman is a Partner with Greylock, a venture capital firm focused on early stage investments in technology, consumer internet and healthcare. He joined Greylock in 1984 and has been a Managing Partner since 1997. Mr. Helman led Greylock's investments in Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Hyperion, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, UPromise, and Zipcar, among others.
Mr. Helman received his AB degree in 1980 from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1984. He is a trustee of Dartmouth College, Chairman of the Board's Investment Committee, Chairman of the Dartmouth Medical School Advisory Board, and ex-officio member of the Thayer School of Engineering Board of Overseers. In addition, Mr. Helman serves on the boards of the Harvard Management Company, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Steppingstone Foundation, the Broad Institute, the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, the Fellows at Harvard Medical School, and the Ford Motor Company.
