The internationally recognized Dartmouth Epilepsy Center has shared its expertise and technology with neurologists and neurosurgeons in Uruguay since 2000.

In 2010, one southbound and one northbound exchange took place. Four D-H specialists spent a week in Montevideo in April, helping the Uruguayans as they began to do invasive monitoring on patients suffering from intractable epilepsy. And a Uruguayan neurosurgery resident spent the month of October in New Hampshire. He was impressed by the complexity of the equipment and the delicacy of the procedures he saw. And by the teamwork he witnessed.
