Over one hundred reproductions from John J. Audubon's Birds of America portfolio, donated by Laurance and Mary Rockefeller, are the foundation for a rich collection that reflects the beauty of DHMC's natural setting. A generous gift from the DHMC Auxiliary in 1994 made it possible to expand the permanent collection and purchase a number of works for the Faulkner Building.
Highlights of the collection include two stained glass windows designed by noted artist Sabra Field, large oil paintings of the Connecticut River Valley by Eric Aho and Petria Mitchell, handmade paper installation pieces by Ellen Mears Kennedy, murals painted on site by muralist Sol Levenson, and a collaborative mural project with the AVA Gallery. Each piece provides an opportunity for contemplation and rejuvenation.
Illustrated brochures about our collection are available at each of the information desks. You may also download the brochure (PDF) or browse the walking tour. Take a moment to explore the treasures that abound in the main lobbies, corridors, and waiting areas of the Medical Center.
