Establishing Balance

Thursday April 9, 2015
12:00 pm to 12:55 pm

Organization: Women's Health Resource Center

The Center for Disease Control is now advocating that people over 60 learn and practice T'ai Chi to reduce falls. (Most T'ai Chi teachers would say start sooner) The T'ai Chi Fundamentals (TCF) conceived by long time T'ai Chi teacher Tricia Yu, is one of the three forms the CDC has observed and considers appropriate. Charles Meyers, one of two T'ai Chi Fundamentals teachers in New England, has been teaching older adults in the Upper Valley , and has relaized that not everyone can stand easily, or at all. In his teaching, he includes Seated Healing qigong along with the TCF movements to help students restore and establish balance.
