Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis (also known as CF) is a genetic disorder that affects the respiratory, digestive, and reproductive systems. Over 30,000 children and adults in the United States have CF.

All babies born in New Hampshire are now required to have a newborn cystic fibrosis screening test.

For more information about cystic fibrosis care and services for children, see the New Hampshire Cystic Fibrosis Center section on the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) website.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Cystic Fibrosis Program is New Hampshire's most comprehensive CF treatment center. Our mission is to provide compassionate, responsive, collaborative care for people and their families affected by CF.

We see patients at DHMC in Lebanon and at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester hosts clinics every month for existing cystic fibrosis patients. Both sites offer a variety of services, including:

The CF Patient & Family Advisory & Advocacy Committee is made up of CF patients and family members of people with CF. The group seeks to enhance both the medical care of CF patients and their quality of life.
