MD Student Scholarships
Today's Students, Tomorrow's Physician Leaders
MD students at the Geisel School of Medicine dream big. They dream of devoting their careers to caring for the poor, at home or abroad. They dream of combining their love of science and medicine in pursuit of better treatments for devastating illnesses. And they dream of becoming leaders in creating better health-care delivery systems. Whatever dreams our students have, the Geisel School of Medicine prepares them to succeed, instilling the same common threads that have defined Dartmouth-trained physicians for decades—compassion, leadership, academic excellence, and citizenship.
But every year, meeting students' financial needs grows more difficult, as a result of the rising cost of medical education for both students and medical schools and the increasing diversity of Geisel students.
Nearly all Geisel School students graduate with debt—on average, about $140,000. Although well below the national average for medical schools, this level of educational debt can be crushing for graduates who still have several years of training ahead of them.
Your support can make a difference. All levels of current-use gifts for scholarships are welcomed. Named scholarship endowments start at $50,000.
