We provide services covering a wide range of clinical conditions and surgical problems organized around four primary divisions:

  • Surgical Oncology—full range of services related to neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract, endocrine system, and soft tissues. Closely integrated with the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the division emphasizes multidisciplinary care and early adoption of innovative surgical approaches to cancer care.
  • Minimally Invasive Surgery—offers a complete range of endoscopic and advanced laparoscopic surgical options for conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, solid organs, and body wall (hernias). The division takes advantage of state-of-the-art operating rooms dedicated to minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
  • Trauma and Acute Surgical Care—focused on prompt delivery of surgical care for patients with multisystem trauma, critical illness, or a wide range of other acute surgical problems. The trauma team coordinates multidisciplinary care at this Level I trauma center.
  • Colon & Rectal Surgery—offers the latest in diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients who suffer from disorders of the colon, rectum and anus. Working collaboratively with Gastroenterologists and other specialists to provide the best treatment approach for each patient. The division provides a complete range of open, endoscopic and advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques.

In addition, we have the following special clinics/programs:

  • Bariatric (Gastric Bypass) Surgery—multidisciplinary team focused on care for patients with morbid obesity, including general surgeons with special expertise in this area, nurse specialists, and a program dietitian.
  • Comprehensive Breast Program—oncologic surgeons work closely with imaging, plastic surgery, and oncology specialists to deliver timely, comprehensive care to women with breast cancer and other conditions.
  • Hernia Surgery Center—The Hernia Surgery Center repairs a variety of hernias, including two common abdominal hernias: the inguinal hernia and the ventral hernia. We also repair femoral, hiatal, and other hernias. Our surgeons use both open and minimally-invasive techniques to repair hernias.
  • Transplant Center —multidisciplinary team of transplant surgeons, transplant nephrologists, nurse specialists, and pharmacologists focused on all aspects of transplant-related care.
