Vascular Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center

The Section of Vascular Surgery provides consultation and care for patients with diseases affecting the arteries and veins (peripheral vascular disorders), including diagnostic testing and surgical intervention.

Patients who might need an angioplasty (percutaneous transluminal angioplasty) are evaluated, then, using the shared decision making model, are cared for via the Vascular Surgery Service.

In cooperation with Interventional Radiology, our Department also provides endovascular—and other less invasive—surgical procedures to vascular patients who meet their surgeon's criteria.

Finding vascular disease early can help prevent disability and even death caused by conditions such as peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease and aneurysm. If you believe you are at risk of vascular disease, we offer a series of vascular screenings.

Frequent clinical teaching conferences are conducted by the section and are available for all interested clinicians.
