CHaD Hosts "Hero" Happening at Ignite Bar & Grill

Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) will hold an information and registration session for the Fifth Annual CHaD Hero Half Marathon & Relay at Ignite Bar & Grill on July 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how they can become part of this year's exciting event. They will also have the chance to win fantastic prizes including gift certificates to Runner's Alley and a pair of Vibram shoes. Complimentary food and beverage will be provided.
The CHaD Hero Half Marathon & Relay will take place on August 29, 2010 at the Dartmouth College Green in Hanover, NH. The event will honor the "hero" in CHaD patients, families and medical staff. The half marathon and relay will take place along a scenic and challenging USATF certified, interstate course that winds through New Hampshire and Vermont. The new Rip-cord 5K Run will give runners who are unable to finish 13.1 miles, the option to turn around at the 4.4K mark. Avid walker and bestselling author, Jodi Picoult, will be joining the 3 mile walk this year as a spokesperson and participant. In addition, the CHaD Hero Half Marathon & Relay will try to recapture a Guinness World Record for the most number of people dressed as superheroes, in one place at one time. All participants and spectators are encouraged to dress in costumes.
All proceeds will benefit CHaD. Last year's event attracted over 1,300 runners and raised over $225K. Since its inception in 2006, CHaD Hero Half Marathon & Relay total donations have surpassed $700K.
