Lamprey Health Care Nashua to Host Open House and Health Fair
October 11, 2012
Nashua, NH

Lamprey Health Care Nashua, located at 22 Prospect Street will be hosting an open house and health fair on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will showcase the many services that Lamprey Health Care provides to the Greater Nashua community including primary medical care, wellness programs, health screenings and more, regardless of patients' ability to pay. The open house is planned in partnership with Southern New Hampshire Health System, St. Joseph Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can tour the facility, meet the health center's providers, receive flu shots provided by the Nashua Public Health Department, as well as get their blood pressure and blood sugar checked and register as new patients. The Greater Nashua Dental Connection will be there to introduce the low-cost services it provides in oral health. There also will be healthy refreshments, great giveaways, and a variety of children's activities, including a teddy bear clinic, face painting and a magician.
The purpose of this open house and health fair is to highlight the availability of important health care services provided by Lamprey Health Care to the community - many of which are available as a result of collaboration between Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua, Southern New Hampshire Health System, St. Joseph Hospital, and Lamprey Health Care. Together, these four organizations are committed to expanding access to care to everyone, regardless of their insurance, or lack of, at a time when access to health care in the community is diminishing. Lamprey offers a sliding fee scale to individuals based upon eligibility.
"The hospitals and providers in Nashua have refused to turn their backs on patients in need," said Ann Peters, CEO of Lamprey Health Care. "We are so pleased to be able to provide seamless access to quality care and give all patients a medical home."
For the partnership to be successful, it's critical that patients, including Medicaid recipients, know that Lamprey provides the health care they seek. The open house event aims to do that by allowing community members to tour the facility, meet the doctors and nurses who work there and hear about the services.
Donations of food and drinks are provided by Stonyfield Farm, The Common Man, Airport Diner, Panera Bread, Hannaford Supermarkets, Cabot Cheese, and Country Tree Farms. Extra Touch Gourmet & Gifts has also donated a basket to be raffled.
