Dartmouth-Hitchcock Chief Operating Officer Daniel P. Jantzen has been named one of "100 Hospital and Health System COOs to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review, a bimonthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems.
Jantzen, who has been a member of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock management team since 1990, has served in a variety of financial positions including Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He was selected by Becker's among health care leaders who "have proven to be adept at leading organizations with various facilities, complex processes and multiple stakeholders in an ever-changing healthcare environment." With responsibility for overseeing the operations of multi-dimensional institutions, Becker's says, these leaders have lent much-needed support to CEOs and other members of hospitals' and health systems' executive teams.
Prior to accepting his position with Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Jantzen lived in the Boston area where he was a Senior Manager in the Audit Department of KPMG Peat Marwick. He spent nine years with KPMG serving clients primarily in the health care, public utilities, and financial services industries. His KPMG clients included Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Boston City Hospital, and Public Service Company of New Hampshire.
Mr. Jantzen graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
COOs and presidents and vice presidents of operations were selected for inclusion on this list based on the financial, clinical and operational success of their organizations, nominations and research conducted by the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team.
