As the Quality Assurance and Improvement Specialist for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester, Sharon Wiley, CPHQ, RN, works with all nurses, physicians and employees to continuously look at ways to improve the quality and safety of the care they deliver to patients. While human error can be the root cause of problems that arise in health care, it is more often a process issue that leads to mistakes.

Sharon looks to identify potential mistakes before they happen and re-engineer a process or system, after a mistake has occurred, to make sure the issue never rises again. Sharon recently became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), which is an international certification, which distinguishes the professional and academic achievement of individuals in the field of health care quality management. The CPHQ program is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies of the National Organization for Competency Assurance in Washington, D.C.
