At Dartmouth-Hitchcock, we realize that health care isn't about insurance, medications, procedures or equipment — it's about people. It's our goal to provide the highest level of care for every person that walks through our doors.

Our patients talk to us — in their own words — about their challenges and their successes before, during, and after their care here. These people are your family, friends and neighbors. Listen to what they have to say about their experiences, and what it says about the level of care you can expect from Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Hannah Kearney's Story (2010 Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion freestyle skier)

"Dr. Carr was the right surgeon for me. He described all possible treatment options, talked with me about outcomes and how many ACL surgeries he's performed. He also told me what to expect during the healing process. I credit Steve Vincente, my physical therapist, in getting me on the road to recovery. His positive energy made all the difference. I’m happy to say my knee is not only as good as it was before, it's better."

Eveleen's Story

"When my doctor told me I had a brain tumor it was like an out of body experience. I had to pull my car over to the side of the road and I just sat and cried. My doctor told me I had two choices for treatment. I could go to Mass General or Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. I decided to try Dartmouth-Hitchcock. I thought I just had a balance issue which I attributed to my age. I'm so glad we took the steps to go forward with finding out the cause."

Harris's Story

“We’d just returned from a nice snowmobile ride in the woods near our camp in Canaan, Vermont,” recalls Keith. “It started snowing like a banshee so we decided to come back early and prepare for the next day. I was backing the sleds into the barn for our ride the next morning just like I’ve done a hundred times.”
