DHMC Among "100 Great Hospitals"

This recognition is the result of the hard work our dedicated care teams do every day.” - Dartmouth-Hitchcock CEO and President Dr. James N. Weinstein

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) has again been named to the annual list of “100 Great Hospitals in America” as compiled by the health care industry publication Becker's Hospital Review.

Becker’s cited DHMC as one of the “most prominent, forward-thinking and focused health care facilities in the nation.” Hospitals included on the list are home to many medical and scientific breakthroughs, provide best-in-class patient care and are stalwarts of their communities, serving as academic hubs or local mainstays.

DHMC is the only New Hampshire hospital on the list, and was previously named to the “100 great hospitals” list in 2012.

“This recognition is the result of the hard work our dedicated care teams do every day,” said Dartmouth-Hitchcock CEO and President Dr. James N. Weinstein. “While it is gratifying to be cited as ‘forward thinking’ and for our medical and scientific breakthroughs as we work to create a sustainable health system, we would not be on this list without the skilled, patient-centered care provided by Dartmouth-Hitchcock staff, who work to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve, for generations to come. My thanks and congratulations to all of our care providers.”

DHMC is the center of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock health system, a national leader in patient-centered health care and building a sustainable health system. In addition to its inpatient facility in Lebanon, Dartmouth-Hitchcock includes Community Group Practices and clinics around New Hampshire and Vermont, the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cotton Cancer Center.

To develop the list, Becker's Hospital Review's editorial team conducted research, considered nominations and evaluated reputable hospital ranking sources, such as U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics' 100 Top Hospitals, Healthgrades, the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Program®, The Leapfrog Group, and several other resources. Becker’s notes that the list is not an endorsement of included hospitals, health systems or associated healthcare providers, and organizations do not and cannot pay for inclusion on this list.
