On Being a Dad

Do dads really get short shrift on Father’s Day? As one dad put it, “On their day, moms get the heart-shaped necklaces and spa gift certificates, while dads get stuck behind the grill.” Still, even though we make a much bigger deal out of Mother’s Day, most dads say they’re okay with it.
Short shrift or not, fathers have a profound influence on their children’s lives. As we celebrate Father’s Day this week, we asked a few colleagues to share their thoughts on being a dad.
Happy Father’s Day!
