Medical Director of the Comprehensive Wound Clinic at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center & Assistant Professor of Surgery, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth
Gary L. Freed Jr., MD, PharmD is a plastic surgeon at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Surgery for Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Dr. Freed completed medical school and residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School prior to coming to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in 2008. He completed plastic surgery training and assumed a full time faculty position in 2011. Dr. Freed’s clinical interests focus on complex wound care and reconstruction for oncologic and trauma related defects.
He currently serves as Medical Director of the Comprehensive Wound Clinic at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and has been co-chair of the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Pressure Injury Prevention Committee since 2015. He has a strong interest in graduate medical education and has served as the Plastic Surgery residency Program Director and is currently in an advisory role for the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center surgical technologist training program.
Dr. Freed lives in Hanover, NH, with his growing family and enjoys all the Upper Valley outdoor offerings when not at work - especially biking and skiing.
