UVSC/ARC A Matter of Balance
Spencer Burdge, APRN and Chizuko Horiuchi
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and thus may restrict their activities in response to this fear. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. This eight-week course will facilitate group discussion to reduce fear of falling and implement practical strategies to avoid falls and improve safety. It includes some very light exercises. You should attend this class if you are concerned about falls; are interested in improving your balance, flexibility and strength; have fallen in the past; or have restricted your activities because of falling concerns.
This group meets every Wednesday, April 3 through May 22 (eight sessions) from 10 am to 12 pm.
The attendance at either first or second session is mandatory to remain in the rest of the sessions.
