Normal vs. Not-Normal Aging: Sensory Changes and Dementia
Lora Gerard, MPA
This class is designed for people who are caring for someone with dementia. The presentation will compare differences between the cognitive and sensory changes observed in the normal aging process with those related to a progressive brain disease. Caregivers will also learn about a newer approach to the practical demands of caregiving. This approach combines a greater awareness of the cognitive and sensory changes of dementia with the goal of promoting more positive interactions between the caregiver and their partner/family member. We will discuss strategies that you can use at home.
