The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced their formal recommendation. Here's what you should know about boosters.

Stay informed

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) is committed to helping support the state's vaccination plan to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible. We will continue to provide guidance and answers so that you can be better informed.

In addition to getting vaccinated, we strongly recommend that you continue to take precautions to protect yourself from COVID-19. This includes:

  • Wearing your face mask when in public indoor places (like a grocery store) or in large groups (outside and inside)
  • Continuing to wash your hands, or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer, frequently
  • Maintaining 6 feet of physical distance when possible

New research finds that the vaccines continue to protect against severe disease

The latest studies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which analyzed data from April 4 to July 17, 2021, show that unvaccinated individuals are 10 to 11 times more likely to die as a result of COVID-19. The studies also show that vaccinated people are 5 times less likely to get infected with COVID-19. Read the full study.

Masks are still required at D-HH facilities. Anyone entering any D-HH facility is still required to wear a mask. Many patients come to our hospital and clinics who have weakened immune systems and are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 disease. Please help protect our most vulnerable patients and our providers and staff by wearing a mask while you are inside any of our buildings.
