Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Child Advocacy and Protection Program (CAPP) cares for the most vulnerable patients in our region: children who may be victims of physical abuse, psychological/emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and/or neglect.
CAPP’s multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, social workers, nurses, child life specialists, and medical assistants evaluates, advocates for, and provides integrated care for these children. Together, the CAPP team conducts inpatient and outpatient consultations, and evaluations of children who are suspected victims of abuse and neglect.
Only 10% of the cost of CAPP’s services is covered by health insurers. As a result, CAPP relies heavily on the generosity of donors, whose gifts provide approximately 70% of its budget.
