Obstetric Services at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital
Beginning on July 15, 2018, Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital (APD) will integrate its birthing and obstetrical services with the Obstetrics, Gynecology & Nurse Midwifery Clinic at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC).
Patients can continue to receive pre-natal and post-natal obstetrical services on the APD campus should they choose. Centering will continue at APD in the Multi-Specialty Clinic. Centering will also continue on the APD campus. Patients who receive their obstetrical care on the APD campus will deliver at the Baby-Friendly Birthing Pavilion at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), located only four miles north of Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital. The Birthing Pavilion offers a comfortable, private, and calm place to give birth. You will stay in the same room for your entire childbirth experience, from the moment you arrive through labor, birth, and recovery.
Nurses will form a team with your obstetrician, midwife, or primary care provider to make sure your labor and delivery are as comfortable as possible.
The Birthing Pavilion includes two operating rooms for planned and unplanned cesarean (also known as C-section) births. Obstetricians and anesthesiologists are also available at all times.
The Lactation Consultants can answer any concerns you may have about breastfeeding.
