Prenatal Checkups

Most women see their prenatal care providers 12-15 times during their pregnancy. However, every pregnancy is different!

You can always contact your prenatal care team for an appointment between scheduled visits if you have any concerns. If you choose, your partner can attend any or all of your visits.

Prenatal care by trimester

Prenatal care actually begins before pregnancy. We encourage you to schedule an appointment for preconception counseling if you are planning to become pregnant in the near future.

Pregnancies are often organized by trimester, or three-month period. We measure pregnancy stages by weeks since the date of your last menstrual period, not from the date you may have conceived your child. A normal pregnancy is 38-42 weeks long.
