Pain Management Center: Lebanon

The Pain Management Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon offers the expertise of a wide range of specialists for evaluations as well as for second opinions. These specialists work together to diagnose and treat chronic pain and those conditions that may cause chronic pain. We specialize in the care of injured workers, patients with spasticity and patients with rare medical conditions. We are also committed to ensuring the safe and appropriate use of opioids.

The Center has a long history of innovation and commitment to its patients. Our approach focuses on combining proven clinical and procedural treatments with a commitment to getting patients back to a comfortable level of functioning.

As one of the most highly skilled centers in the country, we recognize the tremendous value of specific procedures that can help to treat pain. We also believe in, and include, pharmacological management, psychological evaluation and treatment, physical medicine and multidisciplinary case conferences—all proven to be effective in the management of pain. Our Center leads the country in using minimally invasive technologies to treat headaches, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome and other severe conditions that significantly decrease the quality of life for our patients.

While our Center provides a full array of interventional procedures, our special services include:

  • Analgesic and antispasmodic infusion device implantation
  • Spinal cord stimulation
  • Peripheral nerve stimulation

The Center welcomes patients for specific services or for comprehensive evaluation and continuing care.

We strive to see patients within two weeks of receiving the referral from the health care provider. It may take longer to schedule an appointment if certain screening criteria are not met such as approval for cessation of blood thinning medication or there are delays with medical insurance authorizations.
