Your First FRP Appointment (Functional Assessment)

Your first appointment is known as a Functional Assessment. It's an hour and a half evaluation that tells you about the program and helps you and your healthcare professionals decide if the program is right for you.

The Functional Assessment includes:

  • Discussion of your goals and deciding exactly what you want to be able to do
  • Explanation of the Functional Restoration Program and what you would be doing on a day-to-day basis
  • Simple flexibility, lifting, and walking tests to see what you can do now, compared to what you want to be able to do
  • Assessment of any stressors or barriers you feel may affect your treatment or goal achievement
  • Comparison of your current abilities and goals, and discussion of how you can best get the results you want

A Medical Clearance will then be scheduled with our provider for final approval into the program.
