Due to high levels of community transmission and record high cases of COVID-19 in New Hampshire and Vermont, anyone entering a Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) facility must wear a medical-grade mask. Studies have shown that medical-grade masks (like surgical and KN95) are more effective at filtering out virus particles than cloth masks. If you come to a D-H facility wearing a cloth mask, our door screeners will give you a medical mask to wear. This rule is in place now and applies to everyone—patients, caregivers, providers and staff. As a reminder, you must wear a medical mask the entire time that you are in any D-H facility.
We are closely evaluating the levels of COVID-19 in our community and will update this rule as needed.
