Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a bulging or protrusion (prolapse) of the tissues of the vagina, uterus, or rectum through the vaginal opening.

Your pelvic ligaments and muscles can weaken because of age, decreased hormone levels, family history, obesity, or other conditions that strain the pelvic floor. You may experience incontinence or a bulging sensation as the muscles and ligaments become unable to support your organs.

We offer several surgical and non-surgical treatments for prolapse.

Types of prolapse

  • Cystocele (bladder)
  • Rectocele (rectum)
  • Enterocele (vagina and small intestine)
  • Uterine (womb)
