Audiology

The Audiology department at Dartmouth-Hitchcock provides a comprehensive range of hearing services for you and your family, including:

  • Audiologic (hearing) assessment of all ages: infants, children, adults, elderly and of special needs populations
  • Auditory evoked potentials
  • Balance function evaluation
  • Cochlear implant evaluation and management
  • Dispensing of assistive listening and alerting devices (ALDs)
  • Ear molds
  • Hearing aid dispensing and repairs
  • Hearing tests 
  • Pediatric hearing assessment

Diagnostic capabilities

  • Auditory brainstem response (ABR), including sedated and infant ABR
  • Cochlear implant assessment and candidacy determination
  • Consultation on assistive listening and alerting devices
  • Electronystagmography (ENG)
  • Hearing aid evaluation
  • Otoacoustic emissions (OAE)
  • Pediatric audiometry procedures including: behavioral observation, visual reinforcement, conditioned orienting response, and play
  • Pure tone and speech audiometry
