Feasibility of Insomnia Tracking and Treatment in IBD (FITT)

Principal Investigator

Jessica Salwen-Deremer

Study Number

D19155

Summary

The purpose of this study is to learn more about what kinds of sleep problems patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) experience and how those sleep problems may affect their IBD symptoms. We want to find out if we can treat sleep problems in patients with IBD using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). CBT-I is the recommended treatment for sleep disturbances, and has been shown to improve both sleep problems and pain in other groups of people. We also want to know if we can do CBT-I using telemedicine, as providing treatment this way will likely save patients time and money.
