Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) recognized three employees with its 2026 James W. Varnum Quality Healthcare Award, for their contributions to patient-centered care and quality improvement.

This year’s recipients are Jeffrey Gibbs, parking officer; Bryan G. Hybki, MD, staff physician at the Addiction Treatment Center; and Margery D. Instasi, senior phlebotomist. They were selected from a group of 62 employees nominated for the award.

Gibbs was recognized for leading the parking team in providing compassionate support to patients and families arriving at DHMC. Hybki was honored for his clinical expertise, contributions to quality improvement initiatives, and commitment to training future healthcare providers. Instasi was recognized for proactively ensuring patients have necessary lab work before appointments and for creating a welcoming laboratory environment.

Established in 2006 through an endowment created by DHMC trustees upon the retirement of then-president James W. Varnum, the award recognizes employees who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to putting patients and families first.
