Symptoms prior to appointment
If you develop any symptoms (cough, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) prior to your appointment, please do not come to your scheduled flu vaccine appointment. Contact our scheduling team at 603-653-3731 to reschedule.
Vaccine location
DHMC public flu vaccine clinics are only able to accommodate vaccines in the upper arm (deltoid muscle).
We are not able to provide vaccines in other areas of the body, such as the thigh or gluteal muscle. If you have concerns about receiving your vaccine in the arm, please schedule with your primary care provider.
Vaccines for children
DHMC public flu vaccine clinics at 5M are open to adults and children 12 years and older. A parent or legal guardian must be present for patients under the age of 18.
If your child is younger than 12, or afraid of needles, please schedule their flu vaccine with Dartmouth Health Children’s at 6L, your child’s primary care provider, or call 603-653-3731 and advise our scheduling team that your child requires a pediatric flu vaccine appointment.
Helpful hint: Our pediatrics team will gladly vaccinate any adult or caregiver who comes with a child to their vaccine appointment. Schedule your appointment alongside your child’s by calling 603-653-3731 and our scheduling team would be happy to assist.
Insurance and scheduling
When you schedule your appointment, please have your insurance card ready.
If you carry health insurance, we will bill your insurance and there will be no out of pocket cost to you. If you do not have any health insurance, we will be providing flu vaccines free of charge. Please contact our scheduling team at 603-653-3731 for more information.
What to expect
You must schedule your on-site flu vaccine prior to arriving.
On the day of your appointment, make sure you and any others who will be getting a flu vaccine are wearing clothing that can be easily rolled up to allow access to the upper arm.
