The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinics feature teams of physicians and healthcare professionals who work together to help patients manage day-to-day living with muscle disease. We provide this clinic at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, New Hampshire and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Manchester in Manchester, New Hampshire.
We treat a variety of hereditary muscular dystrophies (MDs), including
- Becker MD
- Duchenne MD
- Fascioscapulohumeral MD
- Myotonic dystrophy
- Oculopharyngeal MD
We also treat acquired disorders such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and hereditary neuropathies such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth.
A multidisciplinary approach
We bring together a variety of specialties—including neurology, pulmonary medicine, physical therapy, social work, and additional resources—into one location to meet with patients rather than having patients travel to multiple offices for services. This multidisciplinary approach means our patients receive treatment in one location that is tailored to their unique needs.
We work closely with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to link patients to services and resources in the community that provide information and support for those with neuromuscular disease. In addition, representatives from the Muscular Dystrophy Association are often present during the clinic to assist patients in making important connections in their communities.
