How to Apply

Interested applicants should submit the following documents to PsychiatryTraining@hitchcock.org:

  • Resume
  • Cover letter: The cover letter should outline your goals in pursuing your PMHNP and should also include information about your clinical rotations, including approximate dates, total hours needed, and if you have any special requirements (pediatric hours psychotherapy hours, etc...)
  • One letter of recommendation: The letter of recommendation should be written by a nurse practitioner, professor, or other clinical leader and should speak to the student’s potential as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Applicants should submit their materials at least six months before starting their clinical term. After the materials are reviewed, you will be contacted to arrange an interview so that we can learn more about you and your goals and discuss what our program has to offer. Placement decisions will be made based on a student’s interview and the letter of reference provided. Unfortunately, we cannot offer placement to every student who applies.
