The purpose of the Susan A. Reeves Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Grant is to encourage advanced practice providers to complete a research or quality improvement project within their area of expertise and practice. APPs include Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Anesthetists, Certified Nurse Midwives and Physicians Assistants.
Proposals from all departments and disciplines are welcome. Preference will be given to projects having the potential to address a particular issue, remove barriers to action, inform best practices and/or improve outcomes for Dartmouth Health patients.
Eligibility
Individuals meeting the following criteria are eligible to apply:
- Be a graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Hold a valid professional license in the state of New Hampshire.
- Have clinical privileges to provide health services in the Dartmouth Health system.
- Be committed to Dartmouth Health and its patients as evidenced by 2 years of continuous full-time employment.
Each applicant will engage a mentor from within Dartmouth Health to help develop and guide the project.
Two $30,000 APP grants will be awarded each year. Applicants may only be listed as PI or Co-PI on one application per cycle.
Applicants planning to submit a grant application must first submit a Letter of Intent (LOI).

Send the cover sheet, LOI, and CVs of all investigators, as a single PDF, to both tracy.l.ostler@hitchcock.org and karen.e.jones@hitchcock.org. The materials must be received no later than 12 pm (noon) on the due date.
Following review, a subset of LOIs will be invited to submit a full proposal.
