Education

Our clinicians practice and teach medicine at the highest levels. They work alongside highly-valued resident staff and integrate undergraduate Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth students into our training sites.

Programs offered

  • Residency and Fellowship programs: Three established internal medicine residency tracks and a number of acclaimed fellowships
  • Medicine Grand Rounds: Well-attended sessions, which serve to advance our educational goals
  • Morbidity & Mortality Conferences: Successful and enlightening meetings addressing practical and ethical issues
  • Faculty development: Various series enhancing faculty teaching skills, offered to faculty members and residents.

The vibrant and collegial nature of our department is underscored by the consistent development of relevant educational activities of the Department of Medicine Educational Committee and the leadership of the Internal Medicine Residency Program.

Research

Our mission is being advanced by our focus on bidirectional translational research, and by our pro-active contributions to medical knowledge, which includes outcomes studies, new device technologies, and cell and molecular medicine.

We have accepted the challenge to translate new knowledge into the best comprehensive and cost-effective care to the entire spectrum of patients that we serve.
