Our culinary medicine team offers virtual and in-person classes and demonstrations focused on cooking for health. These classes teach people of all ages how to prepare whole foods in a nutritious, efficient, and affordable way.

What is culinary medicine?

Culinary medicine promotes health and wellness through food. It combines proven nutrition science with cooking skills with the practice of medicine. We focus on using food to lower disease risk, treat illness, and support good health.

Our culinary medicine programs

Our culinary medicine programs provide new approaches for improving health. Programs include:

  • EatSmarter Culinary classes teach patients:
    • Cooking skills
    • Easy nutrition tips
    • How food affects long-term health
  • Culinary Medicine classes give hands-on cooking lessons and practice for healthcare workers, patients, families, and the community.
