The Hematology and Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Postgraduate Fellowship program is a 12-month postgraduate training program for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) in the specialty of hematology and oncology care. Program overview
Our fellowship is a 12-month program designed to train and mentor nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the specialized care of patients with cancer.
The program aims to:

- Prepare fellows to become leaders in the delivery of high-quality cancer care in any setting

We train fellows in an interprofessional environment that fosters teamwork, respect, and a culture of lifelong learning. The goals of the program are to:

- Cultivate leadership and communication skills essential for independent practice
We support fellows in their transition from novice practitioners to confident, skilled providers. We train fellows to thrive in academic or community cancer centers. Our fellows contribute to quality and safety initiatives, providing innovative, evidence-based care to patients and their families.

"Hi everyone, my name is Katherine. I have been a nurse practitioner at the Dartmouth Cancer Center since graduating with my DNP in 2020 from the University of Vermont. In my years at DCC, I have worked with the Thoracic and Melanoma groups and help run the Metastatic Bone Disease Pathway. Outside of work, I am an avid gardener and can be found in my flower gardens. I also enjoy cooking, reading, running, and spending time outside with my husband and dog Walter. I am delighted to be a part of the Fellowship program, and look forward to sharing my passion for Oncology."
About Dartmouth Cancer Center and the Hematology Oncology team
As Northern New England's only NCI-designated Cancer Center, Dartmouth Cancer Center is a catchment area for northern New Hampshire, Massachusetts, eastern upstate New York and Vermont for cancer treatment and cutting-edge clinical trials. Faculty members have national and international experience, with a commitment to mentoring our fellows in their respective areas of expertise.
Our APP team at the Dartmouth Cancer Center is made up of 32 nurse practitioners and physician assistants. We range in experience from new graduates to seasoned providers with backgrounds in clinical research, inpatient and outpatient care, emergency medicine, and other areas. About half of our group are disease specific subspecialty providers who practice at our tertiary care academic medical center in Lebanon, NH. The other half are generalists practicing at Dartmouth Cancer Center satellites around New Hampshire and Vermont.
