Jennifer Hunt, MD, MEd

Jennifer Hunt, MD, MEd, is the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the Dean of Geisel School of Medicine.

Dr. Hunt serves as the executive leader of Dartmouth Hitchcock's academic pillar, bridging clinical practice, medical education, and research. As CAO, she oversees the entire continuum of medical and interprofessional education at Dartmouth Hitchcock and assists with the strategic initiatives of graduate and continuing medical education.

Dr. Hunt received her medical degree and a concurrent master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a residency in anatomic pathology and a fellowship in molecular genetic pathology. 

She has held academic appointments and leadership roles at the University of Pittsburgh, the Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. 

While at the University of Arkansas, she served for nearly a decade as the Aubrey J. Hough Endowed Professor and chair of pathology, and as chief of staff, chair of the credentials committee, and chair of the professionalism committee.

Dr. Hunt is an internationally known head-and-neck and molecular pathologist. She has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed scientific publications in her subspecialty. She has served in elected roles, including on boards of directors and in leadership for various organizations, including the College of American Pathologists, the Association for Molecular Pathologists and the Association for Academic Pathology.
