Pancreaticobiliary Program

The Pancreaticobiliary team and The Walter & Carole Young Pancreas Program specialize in treating diseases of the pancreas and the bile ducts. The program provides all manner of therapy including diagnosis, medical and endoscopic therapies, and long-term management. Our staff includes subspecialty-trained providers with expertise in medical pancreatology and therapeutic endoscopy.

Some of the conditions that we treat include:

  • Acute and chronic pancreatitis
  • Autoimmune pancreatitis
  • Pancreatic cysts
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Gallbladder disease
  • Bile duct stones
  • Cholangiocarcinoma
  • Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction

Among the services we provide are:

  • Endoscopic ultrasound
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography
  • Islet cell transplantation at the Walter & Carole Young Program
  • Minimally-invasive gastrointestinal cancer resection
  • Pancreatic function testing
  • Radiofreqency ablation of tumors

This program is also a very active participant in Dartmouth-sponsored, NIH-sponsored and industry-sponsored clinical trials. This program has been on the national and international forefront in developing treatments for acute and chronic pancreatitis, endoscopic devices and islet cell transplant.
