Rehabilitation medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock comprises three teams:

Occupational therapists

Our occupational therapists and assistants have either a Bachelor's or Master's degree and are licensed to provide care in the clinic or the hospital. Occupational therapy helps you when your daily function or activities are affected by either a physical or mental illness. Our occupational therapy staff hold various certifications, including:

  • CHT: Certified hand therapist
  • COTA: Certified occupational therapy assistant
  • CWCE: Certified wheelchair evaluator
  • OTR/L: Registered Occupational Therapist

Physical therapists

Our physical therapists (PT) hold either a Bachelor's, Master's or Clinical Doctorate degree in physical therapy and have passed state licensure examinations. Our physical therapist assistants hold associate degrees and state licensure. Physical therapy helps you recover after surgery or an injury. Our physical therapy staff hold various certifications including:

  • CMP: Certified Mulligan Concept practitioner
  • CSCS: Certified strength and conditioning specialist
  • DPT: Doctor of physical therapy
  • OCS: Orthopaedic certified specialists
  • PT: Physicial therapist

Speech-language pathologists

Our speech-language pathologists hold either a master's or doctoral degree, certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, and a license to practice in New Hampshire. Speech-language pathology can help with disorders that affect your speech, your ability to speak or understand language, your voice, your mental processing, and your ability to swallow. Our speech language pathology staff hold various certifications including:

  • CCC-SLP: Certificate of clinical competence speech-language pathology
  • CLC: Certified lactation counselor
