Since 1989, selected information from the medical records of all patients admitted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of traumatic injuries has been entered into the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Trauma Registry. The database is now more than 14,000 records strong.
Registry data is used for quality assurance and quality improvement in trauma care, research, education, and injury prevention. To aid in trauma research and prevention activities on the national level, the registry data is shared with the National Trauma Database.
As with all medical records, Trauma Registry data is protected by the strictest standards of patient confidentiality.
