What is Qstream?
Qstream is a microlearning platform that uses spaced learning for efficiency, ease of access, and improved learning outcomes. Qstream delivers scenario-based questions via email and/or the Qstream mobile app. Unlike a traditional eLearning module, Qstream is designed to be completed in small daily interactions (less than 2 minutes each day), rather than all at once.
As you answer questions, Qstream adapts, sending you new or repeat questions based on your level of mastery. Questions are “retired” when they are answered correctly twice (or attempted 3 times). Questions will continue to be sent until they are all retired.
Educators who are interested in creating a Qstream should review the Qstream for Educators section for further information.
How do I access Qstream?
Qstream will always send your questions through email. If you’d also like to receive and answer questions through your phone/tablet, download the Qstream app in the App Store or Google Play.
How is Qstream microlearning different from Halogen modules?
Unlike Halogen eLearning modules which are started and finished in one sitting, Qstream is designed to be completed over several weeks in small daily interactions (less than 2 minutes each day). Because Qstream sends questions over time, it's important to start the QStream right away.
The average Halogen module takes anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. The total time needed to complete a Qstream is about the same, but it’s done over time in small, quick interactions. Learners love that they can answer daily questions in just a few minutes!
Halogen modules can only be accessed from within Halogen. Qstream delivers questions straight to your inbox (or phone/tablet if you decide to use the Qstream app), meaning you can work through your Qstream questions from anywhere!
Why are Qstream questions repeated?
Questions repeat because it improves your long-term knowledge retention. Questions are repeated until the information is mastered or retired. You may see each question up to 3 times.
How do leaderboards work?
You earn points every time you answer a question in the Qstream. You earn the most points if you’re correct, but you still earn points for incorrect answers. The leaderboard can be based on individual scores or team scores. The best way to maximize your score is to answer questions as they become available to you. Note that not every Qstream will use leaderboards.
