To accommodate those traveling far distances, we have developed the Rest Easy Program to provide basic information on local lodging facilities within 15 miles of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC).

These lodging facilities have expressed a willingness to offer special discounted room rates, when available, to assist in meeting the needs of patients and visitors who wish to stay close to the medical center.

Reservations

  • It is the responsibility of the guest to call the lodging facilities directly when booking rooms. The voucher (PDF) must be presented in order to receive a discounted rate.
  • Discounts vary between listed lodging facilities. Rest Easy room rates may not be available during special events and peak tourist seasons.
  • To cancel a reservation, please contact the lodging facility directly.

Special lodging facilities

David's House

David's House is designated for families with children receiving treatments through the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The facility is on DHMC property. Please call ahead at 603-643-2298.

Maynard House

Open since 1978, this is a friendly, affordable guesthouse providing accommodations for patients, their families, and caregivers. Maynard House exists to ease the burdens and expense of travel during medically challenging times by offering a comfortable, home-like environment. This facility is conveniently located three miles from DHMC in Hanover, New Hampshire, offers on-site parking, and is within walking distance of the Advance Transit bus stop and in-town amenities.

  • Reservations are required.
  • No drop-ins are allowed.
  • Call ahead (603-643-3277) to schedule tours and to book rooms.

Transportation

Public transportation is available to and from each lodging facility via bus or taxi service. The Advance Transit bus service stops at or near many of the lodging facilities and is wheelchair accessible. Being a rural area, it is necessary to call ahead for taxi services as it is common to have long wait times.
