Cardiothoracic Surgery APP Residency Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be eligible to obtain an unencumbered PA or NP license in the state of New Hampshire once admitted to the program
  • Must have an active national certification as a PA or NP
    • NP candidates must be registered as a Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) or be actively enrolled in an RNFA program with a completion date prior to the program start.
  • Must have a DEA registration for controlled substances
  • Successful completion of the application and interview process
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and a urine drug screen, as part of the final candidates' pre-employment requirements

Any offer of acceptance is contingent upon the successful completion of the standard pre-employment checks and clinical credentialing process by the final candidates before matriculation.
