Our Family Planning Program is a comprehensive service that offers confidential support and medical care related to contraception and pregnancy termination. Our clinicians are specially-trained in family planning and work closely with you to provide care that is safe, effective, and based on your individual needs. We are committed to providing a respectful and supportive environment where you, have the right to make personal and informed decisions about your reproductive health.
There are many forms of birth control, both prescription and over-the-counter. There are benefits, varying effectiveness, and some risks to all methods. We encourage you to talk directly with your health care provider about the best method for you.
In addition to birth control options, we provide support and medical care for sterilization or emergency contraception.
Preparing for pregnancy
We encourage preconception visits with a doctor or midwife when you start thinking about becoming pregnant. This visit is especially important if you have a pre-existing medical problem or are taking medications on a regular basis. At your preconception visit, you will have a chance to discuss any concerns you have, get an idea of your general health, and learn how to be in the best shape to bring a baby into the world.
Our teams are specially trained in the diagnosis and management of miscarriage, fetal death, ectopic pregnancy, and molar pregnancy. If you have experienced any of these, we may monitor your blood pregnancy tests, or beta-HCG levels and/or perform a vaginal ultrasound. We understand deeply that pregnancy loss is difficult. We'll ensure you have the counseling and chaplain services you or your family needs whenever you need them.
