The third trimester begins in week 28 of pregnancy and lasts until you give birth.
36 to 37 weeks
You will be tested for group B strep. If the test is positive, you will receive antibiotics when you go into labor.
41+ weeks
If you are overdue, your provider will check your amniotic fluid level with ultrasound and perform a non-stress test, to monitor the baby's heartbeat, twice a week until you give birth.
Please note: Many of the prenatal tests mentioned are optional. Particular tests and visits may occur several weeks before or after those listed, and the frequency of your standard checkups will depend on how you are feeling.
